You Are Capable of Amazing Things

"Then Joseph woke up. He did exactly what God's angel commanded in the dream. He married Mary." Matthew 1:24

Hey guys, Happy Friday! Today I want to talk to you  about pursing your dreams. I know that this is a topic that I address a lot, and I truly believe that it is because I can't contain this freedom I feel from stepping out and trusting God.

You know, like when your team wins and you have to tell everyone, or when you got that amazing pair of shoes for half off, and the world has to know?

Yeah, that is basically me!

I love how you can read something 1,000 times, but God will reveal what he has for you in that moment through that same verse that you can memorize.

If you aren't familiar with the story that the verse quoted above comes from, let me catch you up to speed. Joseph was engaged to Mary. They were not  having sex, but Joseph finds out that Mary is pregnant. He is trying to figure out what to do with his situation when an angel came to him in a dream. The angel told him that Mary was pregnant not by another man, but by the holy spirit, their son would be Jesus, and that he should still marry Mary.

Pause

I don't know about ya'll but that would seem pretty outrageous to me. I mean it takes a LOT of faith to hear and receive something as heavy as that. Even if Joseph's faith was on a thousand (which we find out it is) I can imagine my second thought being "But what will everyone else think?" But look at how Joseph responds.

The  bible said that Joseph woke up from his dream, and was simply obedient. WOW

God has placed dreams inside of all of us. I remember hearing a pastor say " If the dream scares you, if it seems nearly impossible, it's most likely from God." Joseph had every right to say "Nah God, I'm good. You want ME to marry her, and you're calling ME to care for Jeuse, King Jesus??? I am not capable of that." He could've came up with many excuses, but Joseph chose to be obedient.

What has God been calling you to do? What dreams has he placed in your heart that may seem unreachable, absurd, or cause you to wonder what others may think? Whatever it is that God is calling you to, the outcome of your obedience is greater than you will ever know or imagine!

Can you imagine if Joseph let fear of what others would say, or thoughts of him not being capable of handling such a task make him ignore this dream and pretend it never happened? Now we all know that Jesus was going to do what he needed to go even if Joseph wasn't in the picture, but his disobedience would have completely changed the narrative of this story.

The dreams and passions that God has placed on your heart are bigger than you. You have no idea how many generations, and how many people your obedience can affect!

I am urging you to walk out on those waters!! He never failed, and he won't start now. You were born for such a time as this, to change the world.

xx,

Jo
