All Eyes On Me

“They couldn’t take their eyes off them—Peter and John standing there so confident, so sure of themselves! Their fascination deepened when they realized these two were laymen with no training in Scripture or formal education. They recognized them as companions of Jesus, but with the man right before them seeing him standing there so upright — so healed — what could they say against that?”

Have you ever felt unqualified to complete a task? I know I sure have — especially when it is something that God calls me to do. I can come up with a list of 10,000 reasons why God has the wrong person. There have been times where I ignored that nudge to do something or speak to someone because of how unqualified I felt at that moment.

But recently God has been speaking the same thing to be over and over again —

“It’s not about you!”

In the scripture above Peter and John had just healed a man who was lame for 40 years! The Pharisees (aka major haters) could not wrap their minds around what happened, and this verse brings our some key points when it comes to being obedient to what it is that God calls you to do.

“They couldn’t take their eyes off them—Peter and John standing there so confident, so sure of themselves”

  1. When you are obedient to what it is that God calls you to do, others will notice your confidence. They will be drawn to you! In a world filled with copy cats there is something special about someone changing lives and going against the grain with confidence. Confidence in ourselves? NO! Confidence in God!!

“Their fascination deepened when they realized these two were laymen with no training in Scripture or formal education.”

2. God loves to use those that the world will see as unqualified. So if you feel like you can not do what it is that God is calling you to do, you’re in the perfect position to start! Peter and John did not go to bible school, they were uneducated, but they touched the hearts of many and pointed them back to Jesus.

“They recognized them as companions of Jesus.”

3. Again friends, God wanting to use you is never about you. It is about the world recognizing us as companions of Jesus. Its always about pointing people back to Him. That should cause you to exhale and run towards the direction that He is calling you to!

“but with the man right before them seeing him standing there so upright — so healed — what could they say against that?”

4. When you are obedient to the task, and walk in Godfidence, the impact that your life will have on others will be undeniable. He will work everything together for YOUR GOOD! — again so that he gets the glory.

So sweet friends, whatever it is that you are feeling called to do in this season, be reminded that when you walk with Jesus, your life will bear good fruit. If he calls you, he will equip you.

xx
